From Germany to the Turkish Riviera: Flowers for a Hotel, Flat or Hospital in Antalya

Picture it: you're in Hamburg on a grey morning, and the person you love is on a sunbed in Side. Or your mother lives in Alanya and your grandmother's village is just outside Manavgat. Few parts of Turkey feel as close to Germany as this coast. Thousands of German retirees have made Alanya their home, Side and Kemer are full of German holidaymakers every summer, and plenty of Turkish families in Germany trace their roots here.

Below is what you need to get right so the flowers reach the right door on the right day. For the basic ordering steps, see our guide for people in Germany ordering flowers to Turkey.

First, where will they be?

Before you type an address, think about where the recipient will actually be that day.

On holiday: the hotel

• Give the hotel's complete name together with its district. A chain can run more than one hotel along this coast; there may even be two with the same name in Side and in Belek.
• Use the name on the booking. For married German guests, that is often the spouse's surname.
• Know the room number? Add it to the address line. If not, no problem: the flowers go to reception and the guest is told.
• Enter the holidaymaker's mobile (a +49 number is fine) so the courier can ring if needed.
• Pick the day after check-in as the delivery date, so you know they have arrived. All-inclusive hotels can keep flowers at reception for the guest.

Living there: home or residential complex

Many people in Alanya, especially in Mahmutlar and Oba, live in gated complexes. Always add the block and flat number to the complex name; security will only let the courier through with it.

In hospital

German residents and tourists being treated in private hospitals in Antalya and Alanya often receive flowers too. Intensive care units don't accept them, and for a regular ward it's worth phoning the hospital before you order. More in hospital flower delivery: the rules.

Every corner of the province

Delivery covers every district of Antalya province. The ones people ask about most:

• Central Antalya: Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı, Kepez, Lara
• Alanya: including Mahmutlar, Oba and Kestel
• Manavgat and Side
• Kemer: Göynük, Beldibi, Tekirova
• Belek and Serik

Each one has its own page: Antalya, Alanya, Side, Kemer, Belek.

Set your watch to Turkey

For same-day delivery, the order needs to be in before 12:00 noon Turkey time. Turkey is 2 hours ahead of Germany in winter and 1 hour in summer. A simple rule for the winter months: if it isn't 10:00 yet in Germany, the flowers can still go out today.

Nothing is delivered on Sundays, so book weekend surprises for Saturday.

Paying and currency

On the English site, prices are shown in euros by default. You can switch to another currency in the top menu, and changing the delivery country won't change it. Pay with the Visa or Mastercard from your German bank, confirmed by 3D Secure. The card is always charged in Turkish lira (TL), and your bank works out the euro amount.

Choices that cope with the heat

For flowers that stay fresh in the Mediterranean sun, roses and arrangements are a safe start. For a hotel room with no vase in sight, flowers in a box are the easiest gift. And for loved ones who live in the region, potted plants will keep them company for months.
