Eid Flowers to Family in Turkey: Sending Bayram Greetings From Abroad
Kissing the hands of the elders on Bayram morning, being welcomed at the door, laughing round the same table... If you live abroad, you probably watch these moments on a phone screen. Leave did not line up, flights were expensive, work was busy. A bouquet can stand at that door for you: fresh flowers, prepared on the day, handed to your mother, father or grandmother in your name.
When are the Eid holidays in 2027?
Religious holidays follow the lunar calendar, so they move about eleven days earlier each year. The expected periods for 2027 are:
- Ramazan Bayramı (Eid al-Fitr): early to mid March
- Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha): around mid May
The exact days are set by the official calendar of Turkey's Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Check that calendar before ordering and choose your delivery day once the date is confirmed.
Bayram morning or the eve?
Choose the day that means most to your family:
- The eve (arife): the bouquet is already there before the holiday and welcomes the guests, and it travels a day ahead of the holiday rush.
- The first day of Bayram: the most emotional choice; your greeting joins the morning visitors.
- The second or third day: if your family will be out visiting on the first day, aim for a day when they are home.
Remember: there are no Sunday deliveries. If the first day of Bayram falls on a Sunday, plan for Saturday or Monday.
Time difference and cut-off
For same-day delivery in Turkey, the cut-off is 12:00 Turkish time. Orders placed before then arrive the same day; later orders the next day. Turkey stays on UTC+3 all year, while Europe switches between summer and winter time, so the gap changes:
- Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria: in early March, 12:00 in Turkey is 10:00 local time; in May, 11:00.
- United Kingdom: 09:00 in early March; 10:00 in May.
In Bayram week the easiest option is to order a few days ahead and pick the delivery day in the calendar. If you are ordering from Germany, see our tips on sending flowers to Turkey from Germany.
The address: district, neighbourhood, phone
Pick the province and district from the list and write the neighbourhood, street, building and flat number in full. The recipient's mobile number matters most: homes are busy at Bayram and the doorbell can go unheard, but when the florist calls, someone will come down. If your family is spending the holiday at a summer house or a hotel, our post on hotel flower delivery in Antalya will help.
What to write on the card
Short and warm works best. A few ideas, which you can also write in Turkish:
- "Bayramınız mübarek olsun" (Happy Bayram) — "I can't be at your table this year, but my heart is with you."
- "Mum, you were the first person I thought of this Bayram morning. See you very soon."
- "Happy Eid to my dear family. Sending you all a big hug from afar."
Not only at Bayram
Bayram may be the day you miss home most, but it is not the only one. Mother's Day in Turkey is the second Sunday of May; with no Sunday deliveries, plan for the Saturday. Birthdays, a new baby, a get-well wish or Teachers' Day on 24 November work the same way. For delivery areas and products, visit the Turkey country page.
Your card is charged in Turkish lira; you can view prices in euros or another currency from the top menu. Delivery is free.
