Valentine's Day 2027 Falls on a Sunday: When to Send Flowers Abroad
Sending flowers to someone far away on Valentine's Day is the shortest way of saying "I'm thinking of you". In 2027 there is one small calendar catch: 14 February 2027 falls on a Sunday, and there are no Sunday deliveries — Sunday cannot be picked in the calendar. So flowers cannot arrive on the 14th itself. The good news is that you have two lovely alternatives.
Saturday 13 or Monday 15 February?
- Saturday 13 February: a bouquet at the start of the weekend opens Valentine's a day early. Your partner is likely to be at home and gets to enjoy the flowers all through Sunday. For most people this is the natural choice.
- Monday 15 February: if they will be out on Saturday, or you like the idea of stretching the celebration, Monday works well too. You can turn it into a joke on the card: "Our Valentine's Day lasts one day longer."
Whichever you choose, you set the date yourself in the calendar when you order.
Order early, enjoy the weekend
The second week of February is one of the busiest of the year for florists. Instead of leaving it to the last minute, place your order a few days ahead and choose 13 or 15 February as the delivery day. You avoid racing the cut-off and can write the address, phone number and card message without rushing.
Same-day cut-off times (Turkish time)
If you are ordering at the last minute, know the cut-off for the country. Orders before the cut-off are delivered the same day, later orders the next day; if the next day is a Sunday, delivery moves to Monday.
- Austria, Italy: 13:00 (11:00 local time in February)
- Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan: 14:00 (16:00 local time)
- Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Albania: 12:00 (10:00 local time in February)
- United Kingdom: 12:00 (09:00 UK time in February)
- Russia, Belarus, Bahrain: 12:00 (also 12:00 in Moscow, Minsk and Manama)
- Turkey: 12:00
- Argentina: no same-day delivery; the earliest delivery date is the day after you order. For Saturday 13 February, order by Friday 12 February, 12:00 Turkish time, at the latest.
An example: for flowers to reach someone in London on Saturday, complete the order before 09:00 UK time on 13 February. Ordering a day earlier is more relaxed.
Which colour, how many roses?
Red roses are the classic answer and still the most popular. Depending on your relationship, another colour might say more: pink for something new, red and white together after many years. Our guide to what rose colours mean covers the details.
Numbers matter too. In Russia and neighbouring countries, flowers for happy occasions come in odd numbers, while even numbers are linked to mourning. Yellow roses can mean parting in some countries. The local nuances are collected in flower gifting taboos by country.
Do not skip the card
A few lines with the bouquet are remembered as long as the flowers. If your partner does not read English, write in their language. Keep it short: a shared memory or an inside joke beats long sentences. And since delivery lands on Saturday or Monday, you can mention that too.
In short
- 14 February 2027 is a Sunday; no deliveries.
- Choose Saturday 13 or Monday 15 February as the delivery day.
- Order a few days ahead if you can.
- Ordering on the day? Check the country's cut-off.
- Your card is charged in Turkish lira and delivery is free.
Frequently asked questions
Can flowers be delivered on 14 February 2027?
No. 14 February 2027 is a Sunday, and there are no Sunday deliveries. Choose Saturday 13 or Monday 15 February instead.
What is the latest I can order for Saturday delivery?
For same-day delivery, before the country's cut-off: 12:00 Turkish time in most countries, 13:00 for Austria and Italy, 14:00 for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Argentina has no same-day delivery, so order at least a day ahead.
Can I order my Valentine's flowers weeks in advance?
Yes. Order whenever you like and choose 13 or 15 February in the calendar. In a busy week, ordering early is the easiest option.
What happens if I miss the cut-off?

How many roses should I send to Russia?
For happy occasions, give an odd number; even numbers are associated with mourning. This matters most with roses that can be counted one by one.
